The local universe is the starting place for those personalities who are farthest from God, and who can therefore experience the greatest degree of spiritual ascent in the universe, can achieve the maximum of experiential participation in the cocreation of themselves. These same local universes likewise provide the greatest possible depth of experience for the descending personalities, who thereby achieve something which is to them just as meaningful as the Paradise ascent is to an evolving creature.
Quote from The URANTIA Book, 1273:03
The three Deities of the Paradise Trinity—the Universal Father, the Eternal Son, and the Infinite Spirit—all three are persons, yet persons infinite and eternal would seem not knowable beyond themselves. But that most profound loneliness makes no sense. Fundamental to the revelation of The URANTIA Book is the knowledge that the three Deities, among other attributes, are personalities who can be known. We ourselves are personalities who know other personalities.
Each of us is gifted with a unique, never-to-be-duplicated, original personality; gifted directly, exclusively, from the Universal Father. The Universal Father is not complete without you and your one-and-only personality. In the most literal sense, we are the Universal Father’s completion.
Immutable, coming straight from the Universal Father, our personality is that about us which does not change. This is why we can know someone else when all other circumstances and conditions have changed. Our personality is how we unify our experience in time and space.
In time we think our experience of knowing the Universal Father is at some indefinite future; in space we think the Universal Father is at some far away distance. Neither of these conditions is true. The only time to know the Universal Father is now, and the only space where we know Him is here. Time and space are merely beliefs, useful beliefs, whereby we practice our faith. We are given time, in faith, to learn what must always have been: that we are the Universal Father’s one Son, created eternal, like Him.
So why would we do this? descend into time, where to know anything we must have faith. We know only with faith. All else passes. The Universal Father is not lonely. We are created the one Son of the Universal Father to create with Him—in eternity. For this we need be perfect, even as He is perfect. For ascending mortals like us, this is the purpose for the seven superuniverses of time and space; these are our training grounds, the place where we live up to the perfection of our creation.
We can know the Universal Father, here and now, even in time and space, because “the purest spirit reality known in the universe” (1216:05) indwells our mind, our Thought Adjuster—a prepersonal fragment of the Universal Father. Everything of the Father is absolute. When we (the personality we are) accept this gift as our Guide, we accept the Universal Father’s absolute guarantee that our home is with Him on Paradise and has always been. In reality, we have never left. How could we?
Paradise is forever always. No diminishment is possible. Ever.
