At the time Adam was chosen to come to Urantia, he was employed, with his mate, in the trial-and-testing physical laboratories of Jerusem. For more than fifteen thousand years they had been directors of the division of experimental energy as applied to the modification of living forms. Long before this they had been teachers in the citizenship schools for new arrivals on Jerusem.
Quote from The URANTIA Book, 0828:03
Upon our graduation from the mansion worlds, our second heaven will be Jerusem, the headquarters world of our system. We are never told for how long Adam and Eve were citizens of Jerusem before being rematerialized here as our biologic uplifters. Most likely they had had a life together in Heaven of many tens of thousands of years before their last assignment.
I bring this to your attention to emphasize their vast experience as citizens of Heaven: “These Material Sons are the highest type of sex-reproducing beings to be found on the training spheres of the evolving universes. And they are really material; even the Planetary Adams and Eves are plainly visible to the mortal races of the inhabited worlds. These Material Sons are the last and physical link in the chain of personalities extending from divinity and perfection above down to humanity and material existence below” (0515:02).
On Urantia, for 117 years, our Adam and Eve were immortal material beings having mortal children. But Adam and Eve have now had over 37,000 years’ experience, once again back in the Heavens, but this time as mortal ascenders. And since our Adam and Eve are now mortal ascenders, please note: “A mortal never returns to his native planet during the dispensation of his temporal existence …” (0436:01). We can accept the authority of our revelation, The URANTIA Book, that as much as we might wish, Adam and Eve will not be returning to Urantia.
The case of the children of Adam and Eve is another matter. More than three fourths of the 1,647 pure-line descendants of Adam and Eve have become wards of the Most Highs of Edentia (see Part 25). These children were born mortal but have not had the essential, formative experience of dying. Remember (see Part 21—The Experience of Survival), of the 187 million mortal ascenders who were resident citizens of Jerusem when our System Sovereign Lucifer rebelled, not a single citizen was lost! Surviving this mortal life is the foundation on which our everlasting inheritance is raised.
I think this Michael of Nebadon’s plan: those children of Adam and Eve who have not had the experience of dying will be returning to our world—probably not all at once, but in groups as we are ready to receive them—to procreate among themselves and with the races of our world.
We expect these children will have long lives (Adamson, the first born of Adam and Eve, lived to the age of 396). In sufficient numbers, and given time, their genetic inheritance will be strong enough to continue the mission of Adam and Eve. We could consider these children our sixth revelation. They will live among us and teach us by their lives, and will eventually pass on to Heaven, as will we all.
Among more than 1,200 children, many will be adults. Think of Adamson’s wife, unnamed by our revelation. Most likely she was the second born child of Adam and Eve, born after Adamson and before Eveson, the second son. She will be bringing all 32 of her children. Since Eve was last here herself, there may never have been on our world a woman of such innate brilliance.
But some of these 1,200 children will be infants. And for the last 37,000 years all of them have been held in suspension, as wards of the Most Highs of Edentia, awaiting their time of mortality.
Our Master Son is the Planetary Prince of Urantia. Which we believe is without precedent, even for the grand universe! His plan will be an outpouring of mercy to inspire all the universes.
