Sometime before the arrival of these one hundred Jerusem citizens, the two supervising Life Carriers resident on Urantia, having previously perfected their plans, petitioned Jerusem and Edentia for permission to transplant the life plasm of one hundred selected survivors of the Andon and Fonta stock into the material bodies to be projected for the corporeal members of the Prince’s staff. The request was granted on Jerusem and approved on Edentia.
Quote from The URANTIA Book, 0742:06
These “one hundred Jerusem citizens” were, of course, the Caligastia one hundred, who accompanied Caligastia, our Planetary Prince, as the first revelation to our world. Attuned to the circuits of our system, the Caligastia one hundred maintained immortality by eating of the fruit of the tree of life. At the next level of authority and supervision beyond Jerusem and our system of Satania is our constellation, whose headquarters world is Edentia. The petition of the Life Carriers to “transplant the life plasm of one hundred selected survivors of the Andon and Fonta stock” to the Caligastia one hundred was “granted on Jerusem” but had to be “approved on Edentia.” This hierarchy of authority is a fact of how the heavens are administered.
In order to share the prerogatives of procreation with the mortals of Urantia, the Caligastia one hundred would need “the life plasm” of those mortals. Accordingly, the Life Carriers chose one hundred Andonites to make this contribution, equally divided as to sex, and brought them to the city of the Prince. By a procedure of celestial surgery the life plasm of these Andonites was inserted into the bodies being constructed for the Caligastia one hundred. (By the way, this is the source for the confused story, in Genesis 2:21-22, of Eve’s creation out of Adam’s rib.) At this same time, these one hundred Andonite contributors were “made possessors of the organic complement of the tree of life so that the Satania life currents likewise invested their bodies” (0857:04), which would enable them to utilize the tree of life to maintain immortality.
Therefore, an epoch before the arrival of Adam and Eve, there were two hundred corporeal beings who lived as immortals eating of the tree of life: first, the Caligastia one hundred—resurrected survivors who had volunteered to return, as corporeal beings, for a second experience on an evolutionary world; and second, the one hundred Andonite contributors—descendants of Andon and Fonta who had never experienced a resurrection from mortal death. Informed of the contribution of their life plasm, these one hundred Andonites chose to serve as personal associates and attendants to the Caligastia one hundred.
The Caligastia one hundred were able to see the celestials; the one hundred Andonite contributors could not. We mentioned before that Van was a member of the Caligastia one hundred and lived as an immortal on Urantia for over 450,000 years. Amadon was his Andonite personal associate and attendant, and these two immortals—Van who could see the celestials and Amadon who could not—were the sole survivors of a rebellion who kept the faith for the promised arrival of Adam and Eve. For as we shall see, the romance of the “Urantia adventure” would be marred by tragedy.
For his supernal steadfastness, Van, who had died a mortal death and seen Heaven, was the hero of his age. Maybe even more the inspiration was Amadon, who had never seen Heaven, whose faith was sight unseen.
Reminds me of ourselves! Truly in our midst, many are the heroes unsung.
